Famous for our annual pancake race, Olney is a picturesque Georgian market town that still has many of the traditional shops sadly disappearing from much of the country

Antique shops are plentiful, either for trinkets or large pieces of furniture, as are stores offering quality home and gift ideas, such as Country Style, Dandelion and Cool & Collectable

Come on a Thursday and you can enjoy a stroll around the many market stalls in the central square

The town is also well served by some fine restaurants. We can recommend Donzella's in Stanley Court which offers excellent Italian cuisine or if you fancy a good pizza then Café Brio will definitely satisfy your craving. To enjoy superb Chinese food there is Old Shanghai and for tasty Indian cooking look for The Four Pillars or alternatively The Spice Garden

The Courtyard is a nice lunchtime venue that you can find in Rose Court, just off the Market Square, and there is also Kasbah for Mediterranean cuisine

Pub grub? There are several pubs in town but we suggest The Swan or The Bull for a good selection of beers, wine and food

On the subject of wine and food, for a little indulgence have a look in Bacchus Wine on the Market Square. An upmarket wine shop, it offers a selection of fine vintages, spirits and also Havana cigars. While for those who love to cook we have an excellent delicatessen called 'Much Ado' located in Stanley Court, behind Donzella's

And we don't mind saying that Hillier Hill is not the only quality car specialist in town, there are two Aston Martin garages with one dedicated to pre-war models. In addition there is a concours quality paint-shop and two specialist panel-beating companies, all of whom we would be happy to give more information on
